On Monday, July 4th, we had a family BBQ and Kyler brought a few fireworks.  So, Luke was able to say goodbye to Corie, Kyler, Halle and Rosie. 





On Tuesday, July 5 at 6:30pm Luke was set apart as a full time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints by President Poll and assisted by Michael Willden, Kolton Willden and Bishop Hilliard.  It was a beautiful blessing and he is ready.  His name tags did not come in mail, so he came home and put on his brother, Chase's mission tag and he wore that to Ghana.

JULY 7, 2022:  THE FOLLOWING IS THE FIRST EMAIL FROM ELDER WILLDEN

So I accidentally sent a blank email, but what's up everyone? I made it to Ghana safe, but the travel was not fun and I am very tired. Also the missionary treatment is nice! Our flight attendant to New York was stacking us with food, he was definitely a member.


This place is crazy! Not anything like home. When I got off the plane it felt like the air gave me a warm hug, but it doesn't stop. The traffic here is nuts. People just go when they want to go and it doesn't matter how close the cars are or anything. The people here are so kind! In heavy traffic people walk down the streets and say hi, and are just so happy to meet people and have conversations. A lot of women wear these baskets on their heads and sell ice cold drinks while you drive by too. 

Anyway I got my tags when I got the the MTC. The MTC is awesome. My companion is Elder Ohene, and he is from East Ghana. He leaves in three weeks to serve his mission in Nigeria. He is very kind, but it is a little hard to communicate. English is broken here. haha. 

I can't upload any pics yet but I have already taken a few. The start to my mission has been great and I love and miss you all.

December 26, 2022 When The Imposter is SUS Merry Christmas everyone! I hope everyone had a good Christmas like I did. There was an imposter among us this week and it was a member. She wanted to give out some Book of Mormons for Christmas and it was a good idea, until she decided to slap a fake sister name tag on, and then put money in the front pages while handing them out. That was mad sus. This week was mad busy... had an exchange on Wednesday, zone conference Thursday, and then Christmas eve and Christmas.  September 12, 2022  Kaafra for not emailing last week. We had a busy pday. Last Monday was my birthday so we stayed the night with the Mpreaso elders and went to rock city the next day to grab some pizza. It wasn't the same as any pizza at home but it was way good. In Ghana they soak you I water on your birthday too, and that night Elder Gilbert, and the two other elders in our apartment got me good haha. Anyways Elder Gilbert actually got sent to transfers on Wednesday and I got assigned to a new trainer. Elder Gilbert got sent to Tamale. I will definitely miss him. My new companions name is Elder Bai and he is from Liberia. He is a great man and loves the work. Both of his parents have died while he has been on mission and he didn't go home. He is also a convert to the church as well. He was baptized 4 years ago, and what's crazy is that he used to be a Muslim.  September 19, 2022  What up everyone I hope you all are doing fine. This week we had zone conference but we had Elder Klebingat there, from the quorum of the 70. He gave an awesome instruction and I learned a lot from him. He also cracked down on all the disobedience in the mission. He is over the Africa West area, and a lot of the missions here have problems with obedience, and He is using our mission to try and figure out the problem. It was interesting being a fresh missionary here and hearing about some of the whack stuff that other missionaries will do. Anyways his instruction was awesome and I learned a lot. I saved a lot of scriptures from the instruction that I will definitely review. This week had its ups and downs, but mostly ups! Me and my new companion Elder Bai are terrible at taking pictures so my fault, I'll do better hahah.
