Elder Willden finished his time in the MTC in Accra.  Here are a couple of pictures from that time:  Missionaries in front of the Accra Ghana Temple 26 Jul 2022   Dear Brother and Sister Willden ,   Your son has arrived safely in the Ghana Kumasi Mission and has received his first assignment.  Attached are photographs of your missionary with my wife and me. We are so pleased to have him in the Ghana Kumasi Mission and we appreciate your efforts in preparing him for this mission.  We are grateful for his willingness to dedicate this time to the Lord and know he will come to love service here.  We have promised him that as he strives to do what the Savior would do each day, he will steadily become more like Him. Your missionary  is encouraged to communicate with family through phone calls, texts, ...
July 20,2022 We were able to video chat with Elder Willden twice today. He didn't have much time to email today, but I will post what he sent following this entry.  He had to do a doctor appointment today to get another covid booster and blood drawn because he is leaving MTC next week for Kumasi.  He cannot upload pictures yet, so hopefully pictures can be posted soon.   don't have much time so this is going to be brief.  First off I am known as "Elder Gum" because I have so much gum haha. In all seriousness though I love my companion, my district, and my zone. A lot are native and they are good people. I really am enjoying my time with them. It's hard sitting in a class room all day but that's okay. I refer to this place as the spirit prison now because the schedule is so strict. I got sick the first Sunday and Monday here but I am better now. Just want you all to know I am enjoying the start of my mission, but I cannot wait to leave for Kumasi Tuesday....

On Monday, July 4th, we had a family BBQ and Kyler brought a few fireworks.  So, Luke was able to say goodbye to Corie, Kyler, Halle and Rosie.  On Tuesday, July 5 at 6:30pm Luke was set apart as a full time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints by President Poll and assisted by Michael Willden, Kolton Willden and Bishop Hilliard.  It was a beautiful blessing and he is ready.  His name tags did not come in mail, so he came home and put on his brother, Chase's mission tag and he wore that to Ghana.   Finishing packing before being set apart. Eating at Maple Gardens in Ogden after setting apart. July 6, 2022:  The following are pictures from the airport as we said goodbye to Elder Willden for 2 years See you in 2 Elder Willden!  So much love and prayers go with you!  After Elder Willden said goodbye and went through security , he ran into his Aunt Beverly  from Alabama coming to visit her son in Utah....

On June 26, 2021 Elder Luke Willden addressed congregation in the Pleasant View 18th Ward and spoke on Conforming to the Will of God.  He greeted those who wished to say goodbye to him at his home following the meeting.  Only a few pictures were taken from that gathering and activities leading up to Elder Willden's departure on July 6.
